Direct Transfer: Guaranteed Admissions Agreement
We want our transfer students to experience a smooth transition from community college to Ferrum. As such, Virginia transfer students who have earned an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree from a Virginia Community College may be eligible for the Guaranteed Admissions program. This agreement requires the student to have all of the following:
- Earned a grade of “C” or higher in courses applicable to the transfer-oriented degree program,
- Earned a minimum of 60 transferrable credits,
- Hold an overall cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher prior to enrollment at Ferrum College.
When a student meets all of the eligibility criteria listed above, Ferrum agrees that the student has satisfied the Liberal Arts Core course portion of our graduation requirements with the exception of a Bible-based course. If the student has not completed a 3-credit Bible-based course as part of the Associate degree curriculum, then Ferrum College will require that the student successfully complete REL-111, 112, 113, or PHI-131. The student must satisfy all other graduation requirements including writing-intensive, speaking-intensive, E-term, and experiential learning requirements.
Articulation Agreements for Criminal Justice Program
In addition to the Guaranteed Admissions Agreement with all Virginia Community Colleges mentioned above, Ferrum has also adopted specific articulation agreements between our College’s Criminal Justice Program and the Danville Community College Administration of Justice Program and Virginia Western Community College Administration of Justice Program.
